Anonymous asked: What are some of the events that sororities hold or participate in here?
Howdy!
One thing that our sorority women pride themselves on is their amount of events and activities they host and participate in. Every semester, the sorority chapters in the Collegiate Panhellenic Council host a philanthropy event in which the money that is raised directly benefits their chapter’s specific philanthropy (ex: Ronald McDonald House, Scotty’s House, Breast Cancer Awareness and Education etc). Each CPC sorority has an individual webpage in which you can learn more about the events that the chapter puts on as well as their philanthropy events. This can be found at http://cpc.tamu.edu/sororities.
Our Multicultural Greek Council sororities put on philanthropy and fund raising events as well. For example, Kappa Delta Chi (KDChi) hosts an annual kickball tournament. This takes place in April. Each sorority has more information on their events as well and can be located at http://mgc.tamu.edu.
NPHC sororities also provide opportunities for service and philanthropy. Zeta Phi Beta Sororities, Inc. raises awareness for the March of Dimes every year. Information on NPHC’s individual chapters and the events they participate in can be found at http://nphc.tamu.edu.
Along with the philanthropy and fundraising events that sororities host and participate in, each sorority member is involved widely across campus and participates in other campus organization events as well.
