Sorority Recruitment Registration Photos

commonsenseandcourtesy:

Most universities utilize online registration systems for sorority recruitment these days, including ICS and Campus Director. These systems usually ask women registering for recruitment to provide a photo of themselves. Having recently seen numerous registration profiles for a nearby university, I offer these words of advice:

1. Provide a photo. While some women fear that this allows the sororities to judge you based on appearances, the reality is that chapters meet hundreds of women throughout the recruitment process. Your photo is essential to helping them remember you.

2. Look your best. While the point of recruitment photos is not to select a sorority’s new members solely on appearance, realistically, your photo makes a first impression before you ever enter the chapter house. So choose a shot where your hair is styled, your makeup is done, and you’re either dressed up or dressed stylishly.

3. Avoid close-ups and strange angles. Again, your photo will be used to help sorority women remember you. It’s not helpful to provide a photo where you’re looking over your shoulder or posing in some odd position for your senior portraits.

When registering for sorority recruitment, use photos that would be appropriate as profile pictures on facebook, match.com, or any other social networking site.  Make a good first impression!
